Durand Area High School has approximately 620 students in grades 8 through 12. As a NCA Accredited school, the High School continuously seeks opportunities to improve programs and services offered to our students. The offering of a wide range of programs are available to all high school students.
Programs available to students beyond regular curriculum offerings include, Advance Placement courses and dual enrollment at local colleges. Career and Technical Education programs provide opportunities for students to compete in the FFA, and FCCLA organizations. These clubs allow students to compete in local and state competitions as well as foster leadership and community service opportunities. Student Government, National Honor Society, and Youth Advisory Committee are a few of the many clubs that are available to students.
A Fine Arts program at the High School offers additional opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities. The school's Marching Band competes annually at a large number of competitions, earning State Championships many times. The Choir program also attends festivals , demonstrating their skills to the community. The Art Club prepares art pieces, which are displayed at their annual exhibit.
As a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association, Durand Area High School, offers 21 Varsity Sports. In addition to the varsity sports, most of the athletic programs offer Junior Varsity and Freshmen programs. Durand is member of the Genesee Area Conference, and compete against many area schools.
